Responsibilities:
EHS
Leads EHS efforts in the circuit safety team, promoting a safety culture that is fully compliant with site, corporate and regulatory standards. Sponsors safe activities and seen as a leader in EHS within both their area and plant-wide.
Drive KPI Measurement, Root Cause Analysis, Lessons Learned and Continuous Improvement of their area
Leads and participates in formal incident investigations identifying root causes, tracks the appropriate corrective actions, and ensures implementation to improve safety and environmental performance in the area.
Provides input and information to Corporate EHS function to ensure Corporate and site functions are aligned, compliant and continuously improving.
Direct accountability for all 14 elements of Process Safety Management (PSM)
Business Support
Establish an effective area management system (ECS) to drive daily and weekly area performance.
Establish work and capacity standards to support planning and scheduling of area activities.
Validate and commit to weekly and monthly shipping schedules as developed in the S&OP Process.
Integrated scheduling and coordination with other site functions and departments.
Effectively aligns activities with short-term S&OP plans, and Lithium division long-term strategies in order to meet financial and operating objectives.
Coordinates the preparation of the capital plan for the area, and its incorporation into the overall Site Capital Plan. Sets priorities for the plans execution.
Interfaces with others in various parts of the organization to ensure existing and future customer requirements are met. These include Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing, R&D, Quality Control, Transportation, Accounting and other FMC sites.
Responsible to assure coordination and communication with Maintenance and Engineering departments to support production.
Responsible for suggesting and implementing innovative solutions and changes to procedure and policy to ensure continual quality of work and product.
People
Develop and direct employees in a proactive manner by fostering both individual employee contributions and development and cooperative teamwork, motivating toward total quality performance and exercising effective communication.
Formally appraise the performance and behavior of direct reports and provide appropriate feedback on both a continuous informal and formal basis.
Actively engage in the development of junior professionals; serve as a mentoring resource for the plant.
Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsible for overall recruiting process in the area which includes interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
Responsible for planning, assigning, and directing work of direct reports and in some cases their direct reports.
Responsible for recognizing the need to reward employees.
Responsible to addressing complaints, resolving problems and in some cases discipline employees,
Financial
Prepare financial forecasts and budgets. Forecast and control expenses, raw materials, packaging materials, product inventories, and efficiencies. Initiate and implement operational plans to ensure forecasts, budgets and customer requirements are met.
Confer with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
Ensure area is in compliance for all regulatory and process training.
Approve MOC and communicate changes.
Create, update and manage labor models and capacity models for effective circuit management.
Required Education:
A bachelors degree in chemical engineering.
Qualifications:
Eight plus years in manufacturing or engineering management experience in assignments of increasing responsibility.
Management experience must include exposure to production and process functions, PSM covered process and have worked in a Management Operating System environment (preferred).
Prior experience in a chemical manufacturing or process facility is required.
Skills:
General working knowledge of plant engineering, human resources practices, quality assurance practices, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Process Capability (Cpk), Six Sigma Green Belt certified, Sales Inventory and Operations Planning and environmental management. Experience in Manufacturing software, Project Management software, Human Resources systems; MS Office.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
