Safety Compliance Manager (883)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
This position has the responsibility for the implementation and administration of all safety policies and safe practices, ultimately achieving full compliance with local, state, federal and company regulations. The focus of this position is to create a culture in which we continually work towards a goal of zero injuries. The position will have the authority to make decisions while exercising discretion and independent judgment.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety.
Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines, and interface with regulatory agencies to formulate corrective actions.
Implement the Company's Target Zero Safety System and the Ten Core Elements.
Design training for all levels of management and employees.
Develop and implement accident investigation, data analysis, recurrence prevention programs and procedures, and ensure corrective actions are followed through.
Conduct reviews and audits of all areas of the operation and facility.
Monitor all current information on regulations and requirements related to hazardous materials and agents.
Develop and direct the general safety programs to ensure a safe environment, comply with corporate safety and program standards, and drive down the injury index at the plant.
Investigate and evaluate new safety equipment for appropriateness.
Respond and provide assistance to all emergency situations.
Ensure all recordkeeping is timely and conforms to corporate's mandates.
Attend conferences, meeting, and workshops to keep up-to-date on new safety methods and procedures to applicable codes and regulations or to maintain required level of certification.
Follow all Food Safety Requirements and GMPs as applicable to position

Required Skills
SKILLS:
Experience assisting or leading in a culture-change initiative regarding safety and safe practices.
Ability to make decisions and be process and results-driven.
Solid knowledge of OSHA standards and applications of industry codes.
Effective hands-on management skills with the capability of resolving organizational, training, communication, and interpersonal problems that may arise.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively present facts and recommendations in oral and written form.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure while managing multiple tasks.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand, evaluate and make judgment on proposals.
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; to gather and analyze information skillfully.
Required Experience
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
4 years related experience in environmental health and safety compliance.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in occupational health and environmental safety or a related field.
Most Preferred: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) by Board of Certified Safety Professional and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) by American Board of Industrial Hygiene

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
